Alternative medicine is not only simple word but it carries a deep meaning. It can be also called as the substitutes of medicines use in allopathy treatment. It involves various kind of therapies fusing natural herbs. There are near about 135 types of alternative treatment which are being practised all over the world. For chinese it is acupunctuer, for the French magnetic healing, for the Germans Helipraxis, for the English, Herbalism, for India Ayurveda.
The most popular categories of alternative medicine are ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga, Herbalism, Meditation, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy etc. It is also known as the traditional medicine as it has been used for very long time.

Our Aim and Objective is to uphold the honor and dignity of the practitioners of alternative medicine and to safeguard the interest of Alternative Medicine, its practice and its development. Our aim is to certify, supervise and compile a data base of practitioners who possess certificates, diplomas, degrees or etc. of the Institute/ council and also those that have qualified from other colleges or institutes that are affiliated to “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” or any other genuine and quality institute, and also practitioners those who have vast practicing-experience in any of the branches of complementary and alternative medicines. These shall be awarded by Registration Certificate and shall be considered as Registered Medical Practitioner of Alternative Medicine [ R.M.P.(A.M.) ].
Our aim is to bestow rights of practicing to those R.M.P.(AM)s enrolled by “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” as qualified practitioners and entitling them to practice, issue medical certificates that shall be legally accepted with regard to illness or fitness without any restriction. Our aim is also to enable the Faculty to be able to conduct examinations, teaching, and to establish educational institutes or colleges etc. that can award degrees [including Ph.D.(AM), M.D.(AM), Master, Bachelor etc.], diplomas, certificates etc.
Our aim is to benefit humanity and make prominent improvement in public health by applying various therapies as per the principles and philosophy of complementary and alternative medicines. We aim to publish papers and research relating to complementary and alternative medicines. We aim to establish and set up dispensaries, hospitals, health care and research institutes that practice healing as per alternative medicine. Bach Flower Remedy
Flower essence is a broad description for a liquid preparation, which is created by immersing a flower into water and exposing the preparation to sunlight or heat. This infuses the preparation with the healing properties that are derived from the life energy and spiritual elements contained in the flower.
This system is based on the integration of indigenous medicines with harmless, time tested & absolutely reliable allopathic medicines to cure sick persons.
Essentially means employing massage techniques by applying pressure of various types over specific points on the body to stimulate energy points. The idea is to make available to all parts of the body and adequate amount of chi, the energy that flows in the network of different meridians or their collaterals.
Its base is the physiological fact that both, the structure and vitality of the organs of the body and dependent upon certain necessary quantities and proper apportionment of this organic constituents. These remain after combustion of the tissues and from the ashes.
The complicated system of acupuncture had identified pressure points in the human body that were considered crucial for the healing process. By manipulating these pressure points, physicians could treat the most complicated diseases. The modern name is derived from the Latin word ACUS (needle) and PUNCTURE (Penetration).
Passed down through the ages, this system leans upon the Wisdom of the ancients as well as modern science. The curative properties of Nature - the sun, air, the earth and water are employed as natural cures. The primary cause of all diseases, according to naturopathy, is the conscious or unconscious violation of Nature's laws, and disease in reality is a self-purifying effort by the body to heal itself.
In broad terms, it aims at the deliverance from suffering and pain through meditation to affect a reunion with the universal spirit. In more specific terms, it includes the practice of various postures static and moving, breathing exercises, a disciplined diet, and meditation all of which tone up the body, mind and spirit.
