We are committed to promote, spread globally and advance the art and science of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) and its various brances like Traditional Chinese medicine like Acupuncture and Acupressure, Bach Flower Remedies, Electro Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Yoga, Herbal Medicines, Psychological Counseling, Radiesthesia, Shiatsu, Hypnosis, Radionics Massage, Bioenergetics, Chromotherapy,  Gem-Tele Therapy, Medical-Astro Therapy, Urine Therapy, Aromatherapy, Chiropractic, Osteopathy, Reiki, Magnetotherapy, Reflexology, and other branches of alternative medicine and make people aware of this form of treatment of ailments, thereby raising the status and goodwill of Alternative Medicine all over world.

We are committed to advance and enhance the system of alternative medicine by promoting scientific research and professional practice in this field. We aim to do this by promoting it, encouraging the practice, research and development in this field, and also setting very high benchmark of professional ethics, high standards of competence, unimpeachable conduct, in depth education, so that our degrees and certifications are valued among the practitioners’ thereby promoting excellence of knowledge and practice of alternative medicines. We aim to do this vide our thorough training, our well designed educational courses, our refresher courses, and by way of frequently held seminars, lectures, meetings by conducting workshops, publishing reports, papers etc. We also hold regular discussions, debates, camps, exhibitions,  to promote the cause of alternative medicine. We frequently take out publications to foster interest in the field of alternative medicine at in its practice.Our Aim and Objective is to uphold the honor and dignity of the practitioners of alternative medicine and to safeguard the interest of Alternative Medicine, its practice and its development.

Our aim is to certify, supervise and compile a data base of practitioners who possess certificates, diplomas, degrees or  etc. of the Institute/ council and also those that have qualified from other colleges or institutes that are affiliated to “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” or any other genuine and quality institute, and also practitioners those who have vast practicing-experience in any of the branches of complementary and alternative medicines. These shall be awarded by Registration Certificate and shall be considered as Registered Medical Practitioner of Alternative Medicine [ R.M.P.(A.M.) ].

Our aim is to bestow rights of practicing to those R.M.P.(AM)s enrolled by “Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata” as qualified practitioners and entitling them to practice, issue medical certificates that shall be legally accepted with regard to illness or fitness without any restriction.

Our aim is also to enable the Faculty to be able to conduct examinations, teaching, and to establish educational institutes or colleges etc. that can award degrees [including Ph.D.(AM), M.D.(AM), Master, Bachelor etc.], diplomas, certificates etc. thereof.Our aim is to benefit humanity and make prominent improvement in public health by applying various therapies as per the principles and philosophy of complementary and alternative medicines.We aim to publish papers and research relating to complementary and alternative medicines.

We aim to establish and set up dispensaries, hospitals, health care and research institutes that practice healing as per alternative medicine.We aim to involve ourselves and undertake various kind of social-service activities like proper sanitation,  eye clinic, public health, epidemic awareness camp, family and social welfare.

We are aware that no education is complete without books for reference as well as for imparting the necessary polish to the student. Keeping this in mind, the Institute has equipped itself with a vast and comprehensive library which comprises of comprehensive reading material and well as a wide selection of reference material for the students to study. All the material comprising of periodicals, journals, texts and reference books are aimed to further enhance the knowledge of the student in the ethos and principles of Alternative Medicine.

Office

The Institute has a modern office with hi tech machinery, gadgets and the latest communication equipment like Internet enabled computers, etc., so that the student and the staff are constantly in touch with the outer world.

Hostel

The Institute has made arrangements for the students both international as well as those who come from other cities to stay at hostels and guest houses which are conveniently located, fully equipped with modern facilities and centrally located. We ensure sure that our students will stay in comfortable and pleasant place which is clean and safe, while pursuing our courses.

Clinic

The Institute has its own treatment centre where we treat patients holistically. It is equipped with the latest, high quality alternative medical equipment and facilities. The centre is managed and run by a team of sincere, hard working and experienced Alternative Medicine practitioners who provide the best possible health care for various illnesses through holistic and natural means of healing. It is run as per our ethos, i.e. to rejuvenate and provide healing to the ailing by flushing out the ailment from the body through natural therapy, which is entirely drug free.

To this end, we are pleased to say, we are very successful. Our centre is visited by patients from far and wide. The centre is gaining more and more patients, since satisfied and happy patients recommend it to more people. It gives us great pleasure to be of service to humanity and provide the ailing people relief which is not only completely safe and non-toxic, but also affordable and economically viable.

Our cures encompass nature cure treatments like Hydrotherapy, mud therapy, chromo therapy, hip and spinal baths etc. Yogic Kriyas, Asanas and Pranayam is also taught to people with chronic ailments. Meditation is also taught to provide solace to the suffering patients.

Of course our students in the course of their practical training are shown how to treat patients through our clinical practise. They gain valuable insight, experience and also get guidance on how they are supposed to work with the sick people. Clinical training is a very important part of Alternative Medicine and what the students learn by way of the Clinic is invaluable to their pursuit of their course.

For getting admission in the institute, the candidate has to fill an admission or registration form, which is available at the institute's office on normal working days. The form would also provide details and relevant information on the different courses held at the institute. Further, the candidates can also procure the study material, certificates and other documents from the office itself. This would expedite their admission procedure and they would be able to get a first - hand feel of the institute.

The admission office of our institute is strategically developed in Thakurpukur, which is in the mainland of Kolkata, West Bengal. The candidate can take a train from their native land to the Howrah or Sealdah Railway Stations in Kolkata. In close proximity to the railway junctions are bus and taxi stands, from where the candidate can also hire/board the vehicle for Diamond Harbour Road, Thakurpukur. Our institute is located near the Thakurpukur 3A Bus Stand, and is opposite to the famous Swadesh Basu Hospital.

For imparting effective trainings to students and treatments to patients, we are backed by a team of medical experts. Our experienced and dedicated doctors provide treatment to our patients and cure their ailments through a natural approach. They bank upon our mobile dispensaries, which are equipped with remedial kits, instruments and tools. Our doctors are selflessly providing treatments to all, especially to people who cannot afford expensive treatments. Moreover, we have also nurtured a team of lecturers and research scholars, who impart practical learning to the students about Alternative Medicines. They also help the students in exploring their potential and helping them towards becoming successful healers.

To nurture a scholarly environment at the institute, we have facilitated it with a hostel facility for our students. The hostel is setup in the sprawling greens that bring the students closer to the nature and enhance their energy bodies. The enriching energy of the nature and the complete comfort of the hostel is a stimulus for the students to more closely understand the nature and apply their learning in holistic treatments.

The procedure for getting admittance in the hostel is mentioned below:

• The monetary remittances are supposed to be sent by cash/MO/demand draft, to the 'Institute of Alternative Medicines Kolkata' 189, D. H. Road, (study point ) Thakurpukur, Kolkata-700 063. The bank draft has to be made in favor of the Institute of Alternative Medicines kolkata Payable at Kolkata
• The M.O. coupon should clearly state the name of the candidate, address, name of the course and the language of the lessons
• A self-addressed stamped reply post card or envelope should be enclosed for further information

   

  The institute’s office will remain open from 10.00 am. to 5.00 pm. on weekdays, and from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on Saturdays. The office shall remain closed on Sundays and all other Gazetted holidays.
